It is the result of investments made by IBM, the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the University of Sao Paulo (USP), which will invest a total of $20 million over the next 10 years. In this first phase, the USP will pay 1 million in the physical facility and will be responsible for the speakers and management staff. The goal is to focus on industry, science and social applications. C4AI will aim to address five major challenges related to health, the environment, the food production chain, the future of work and the development of natural language processing technologies in Portuguese, as well as projects related to improving human well-being and initiatives focused on diversity and inclusion.
